NOTICE

The Town Office is now open regular hours, Monday - 10:00 to 4:00 pm; Tuesday - 9:00 am to 4:00 pm; Thursday - 12:00 to 6:00 pm.  Only 2 customers at a time will be allowed in the town office. Face coverings are required to enter the building.  

Motor Vehicles can be re-registered using the Maine Department of Motor Vehicles Rapid Renewal System at the following link:

TOWN OF ALBION

NOTICE OF BID FOR TAX ACQUIRED PROPERTY

The Town of Albion is now accepting bids for the following tax acquired property at 9 Cookson Road, Map 10, Lot 34. Minimum bid $3,200.00. Sealed bids must include bidder’s name, mailing address and phone number and marked “Tax Sale Bid” on the outside. Bid must be accompanied by a deposit in the form of a certified check or money order in an amount equal to or greater than 10% of the bid price. Sealed bids must be sent or delivered to the Albion Town Office at 22 Main Street, Albion, ME 04910. All bids must be received by 4:00 pm February 8, 2021. Bids will be opened on February 8, 2021 at 6:30 pm during the Selectmen’s meeting.

Cemetery Committee

The Albion Cemetery Committee was established by town ordinance to oversee the town’s cemeteries, reporting to and responsible to the Selectboard.

The committee meets at least twice each year, usually on the first Monday of the month at 7pm at the Besse building. The meetings are open to the public and anyone interested in attending should contact a committee member to find out when the next meeting will be.

The board consists of 5 members, including a chairperson, sexton, and secretary.   The sexton is responsible for assigning and selling cemetery lots and keeping records of lot locations and payments and depositing the money to the town clerk.
