The Area to be Paved Measures 5650 Ft Long, and Approximately 20 Feet Wide

This Would Consist of 2 Inch Thick, 12.5 Base and 19 mm Hot Mix Material

The Bidder Must Supply All the Needed Equipment and Materials to Perform the Job

Upon Winning the Bid, Proof of Insurance Must be Faxed or Emailed to the Town of Albion

Bids are Due and Will be Opened and Accepted at the Selectmen's Meeting, Monday, August 15, 2022, at 6:30 PM

Money Will be Payable October 1, 2022

NOTICE OF BID FOR SURPLUS VEHICLES

2002 Case Backhoe

The Town of Albion is accepting bids for a 2002 Case Backhoe 580 SM. This vehicle comes with two buckets and Wain-Roy Twist-a-Wrist.

The hour meter is broken and reads 5700.  The unit, which is in running order, was recently taken out of service and replaced with a newer unit.

It will be sold As-Is, Where-Is by sealed bid.  All bids must be received and marked as "Backhoe Bid" in a sealed envelope by August 22, 2022, at 4PM.

Bids will be opened and awarded at the Selectmen's Meeting at 6:30 PM that same day.

The Town reserves the right to reject all bids and re-advertise. Payments are due within five days of award.  Bids are to be mailed or dropped off at the

Minimum bid accepted is $10,000.00

1977 John Deere 670 Motor Grader

The Town of Albion is accepting bids for a 1977 John Deere 670 Motor Grader.

The Grader has a John Deere 6414T six cylinder turbo diesel engine with 135 HP and is in running order.

It will be sold As-Is, Where Is by sealed bid.  All bids must be received and marked "Grader Bid" in a sealed envelope by August 22, 2022 at 4PM

Bids will be read and awarded at the Selectmen's Meeting at 6:30 PM on the same day

The Town reserves the right to reject all bids and re-advertise. Payments will be due within 5 days of award.

COVID RELIEF CHECKS

In an effort to offset the current higher cost of living due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, Governor Mills will be issuing the taxpayers of Maine $850 in the form of direct checks.

To be eligible to receive these checks, you must file a 2021 individual income tax return by October 31, 2022, as a full-time Maine resident.

 NOTICE

The Town Office is open Monday - 10:00 to 4:00 pm; Tuesday - 9:00 am to 4:00 pm; Thursday - 12:00 to 6:00 pm.  NO new registrations will be processed 15 minutes before closing.  This includes ATVs, boats and snowmobiles.

CMP contractors will be brush cutting and selectively treating stumps with herbicide on transmission rights-of-way after the snow melts.  For further information and Landowner Agreement forms, please contact Nicholas Hahn at (207) 620-4618.  Forms may be obtained by writing to CMP Vegetation Management, 83 Edison Drive, Augusta, Maine 04336.

Cemetery Committee

The Albion Cemetery Committee was established by town ordinance to oversee the town’s cemeteries, reporting to and responsible to the Selectboard.

The committee meets at least twice each year, usually on the first Monday of the month at 7pm at the Besse building. The meetings are open to the public and anyone interested in attending should contact a committee member to find out when the next meeting will be.

The board consists of 5 members, including a chairperson, sexton, and secretary.   The sexton is responsible for assigning and selling cemetery lots and keeping records of lot locations and payments and depositing the money to the town clerk.

General Assistance Application

The municipality of Albion Administers a General Assistance program for the support of the poor.  Pursuant to Title 22 MSRA 4305, the municipal officers have adopted an ordinance establishing that program.  A copy of this ordinance and relevant statues is available for public inspection at the Town Office and/or during regular office hours.

 

Persons who wish to apply for General Assistance may do so by appointment at the Albion Town Office during the following times.

Monday 12:00 - 4:00 P.M.

Tuesday 9:00 - 4:00 P.M.

Thursday 12:00 - 6:00 P.M.
